How to Clean Abaca Fiber Carpet?

Abaca fiber carpet has a relative longer carpet lifespan than other carpets due to the properties of natural plant fiber. The lifespan can even be extended if it is being cared and maintained properly.

Carpet Care Instructions

Place carpet in dry areas such as living room, bedroom, hallway, etc. They are not resistant to water. Therefore, do not place them in areas such as bathroom, swimming pool, or outdoor areas where water/rain contact is possible. Natural plant fibers are very absorbent. They will expand when absorb water and shrink when dry. That will in turn cause damage to the carpet.

Avoid direct sunlight for a long period of time. In addition, rotate carpet for even use of every corner.

If a fiber sticks out, do not pull, clip with scissors.

Carpet Cleaning Method

Regular vacuuming can prevent dirt and dust trapping in the carpet. Remember to go different directions while vacuuming for best results.

If a spill occurs, blot it up immediately with a dry, undyed cloth. Then, dry instantly with dry cloth, hair dryer or fan. For stubborn stains like red wine or coffee, dampen a cloth with little soda water and blot up the stain. Next, dry instantly with a dry cloth, hair dryer or fan. Hold the hair dryer in a distance to avoid continuous high heat. If you treat it quick enough, the stain will most likely be removed. If the stain still cannot be removed, hire a professional carpet cleaner.

Remember! Do not wash the carpet with water, nor rub or scrub it.

This will only ruin the carpet by destroying the weaving and breaking the fiber.

Also, do not use Clorox or strong detergent as this will damage the carpet as well.
